# Terms of Service (Feather Bot)

**Effective date:** 08-05-2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of **Feather Bot** (the “bot”, “service”) on Discord. By using the bot, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the bot.

## 1) Who operates the bot

Feather Bot is operated by its host CraftersMC Guides. The bot may be used in multiple Discord servers at the discretion of server administrators and the bot owner.

## 2) Eligibility

You must be old enough to use Discord and comply with applicable laws in your jurisdiction. Do not use the bot if you are prohibited from using online services.

## 3) Your responsibilities

You agree to:

- Use the bot in compliance with Discord’s Terms and policies, and the rules of any server where you use it.
- Provide accurate inputs when you choose to submit them (e.g., Minecraft usernames, report details).
- Keep your own Discord account secure and not share access in ways that violate Discord rules.

## 4) What the bot does

The bot provides game-related tools and utilities (for example, player/profile lookups, bazaar tools, auctions browsing, leaderboards, reminders/notifications, and issue reporting). Some features may send you direct messages (DMs), such as reminders.

## 5) Data and privacy

The bot processes and stores certain identifiers and settings to function (for example, Discord user IDs for notifications, optional Discord <=> Minecraft linking, and local storage for alerts/rules).

Details about what data is processed, where it is stored, which APIs are called, and retention are described in `PRIVACY.md`.

## 6) Third-party services and links

The bot relies on third-party services (including Discord and external APIs) to provide features, and may present links to third-party sites (for example, voting links).

We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, changes, or their privacy practices.

## 7) User submissions and content

Some commands allow you (or operators) to submit content, including:

- Issue reports via `/report` (text and optional attachments/links).
- Leaderboard submissions (if enabled by the host) via bot commands.
- Operator-to-user DMs via `/message`.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you provide, and that it does not violate laws or Discord/server rules.

## 8) Prohibited use

You may not:

- Attempt to abuse, disrupt, or overload the bot or its dependencies (including spamming commands or automation that causes excessive requests).
- Attempt to bypass access controls (including operator-only restrictions).
- Use the bot for harassment, illegal activity, or to collect personal data about others without permission.
- Reverse engineer or exploit the bot to extract secrets (such as API keys) or access data you are not authorized to access.

The bot owner/operators may restrict or block usage at any time for any reason, including suspected abuse.

## 9) Operator and admin features

Some commands are restricted to the bot owner/operators (for example, verification/linking and unlinking, sending DMs to users).

If you are a server admin, you are responsible for how you deploy and configure the bot in your server and for communicating any server-specific rules to your members.

## 10) Service availability and changes

The bot is provided “as is” and may be unavailable, degraded, or changed at any time (including command behavior, endpoints used, or data formats). Features may be added, modified, or removed without notice.

## 11) Disclaimers

- Game data, market prices, and leaderboards are provided for informational purposes and may be inaccurate, delayed, or incomplete.
- Notifications are best-effort and may arrive late or not at all due to platform restrictions, outages, or user DM settings.

## 12) Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the bot owner/operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of the bot.

## 13) Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the bot at any time. You may stop using the bot at any time.

Data deletion options are described in `PRIVACY.md`, and some deletions may require contacting the bot owner/operators.

## 14) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top reflects the latest version included with this codebase.

## 15) Contact

For questions about these Terms or to request assistance, contact the bot owner/operators or the support server referenced by the bot’s `/info` command.
